What it is
Altkata is a native iPhone, iPad, and Mac app for learning alternative investments through short, focused study sessions you can finish every day. Each exercise tests a single concept — a definition, a regulatory threshold, a calculation — and gives you immediate feedback with the correct answer and a one-line explanation.
Spaced repetition does the scheduling. The FSRS algorithm decides when to show each card again, just before you'd forget it. You finish your due reviews and a small batch of new cards, and then the app stops. No infinite scroll, no streaks-as-pressure.
1,169 exercises across 43 topics cover the foundations of alternative investments — private equity, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure, commodities, structured products, manager selection, due diligence, and the regulatory and tax frameworks that govern them. Content is curated to align with the CAIA Level I body of knowledge as one organizing lens; the app is a general-purpose alts learning tool, not exam-prep software.
Optional iCloud sync lets you pick up on iPad or Mac where you left off on iPhone, if you want. Local-only is a first-class mode.
Privacy
This app sends no data to anyone except your own iCloud (when iCloud is available). Crash and diagnostic reports go through Apple's standard, anonymized channel and reach only the developer.
